With an ideal balance of hands-on execution and high-level strategy, you will have ownership in creating an efficient, high-functioning tax department that adds value to the business. This isn't a traditional compliance role; <b>we need a builder</b> with a strong tax technical background and a genuine interest in building relationships and collaborating across the business.</p><ul><li><p><b>True Autonomy & Impact:</b> You will work hand-in-hand with the VP of Tax, giving you a front-row seat to global tax strategy and immediate impact on the business.</p></li><li><p><b>A Modern Operational Playbook:</b> In this role, you will be empowered to use modern technology and automation to streamline workflows, acting as a true force multiplier.</p></li><li><p><b>Global Exposure:</b> You will gain experience managing a multi-entity footprint spanning almost a dozen countries, with a strong focus on UK and US tax law.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>What You’ll Do:</b></p><ul><li><p><b>Execute on the Day-to-Day Operational Aspects of Running a Tax Department:</b> This will look different every day, but includes completing account reconciliations, researching tax issues and documenting conclusions, cash tax forecasting, preparing the quarterly tax provision and more.</p></li><li><p><b>Oversee International Tax & Transfer Pricing:</b> Monitor inter-company transactions, maintain transfer pricing documentation, and ensure structural alignment across our cross-border entities.</p></li><li><p><b>Manage Global Compliance:</b> Co-manage and coordinate the preparation, review, and timely filing of all corporate income tax returns across 12 countries, with a specific focus on our core UK and US entities.</p></li><li><p><b>Drive Tax Automation:</b> Identify, design, and implement automated workflows for data collection, tax provisioning, and compliance reporting to eliminate manual, repetitive spreadsheet tasks.</p></li><li><p><b>Own Tax Data & Systems:</b> Lead the implementation of new Tax Provision software and act as the tax department’s super-user for our financial systems, ensuring ERP data structures cleanly support tax provision (IFRS / ASC 740) and global reporting requirements.</p></li><li><p><b>Direct External Advisors:</b> Serve as the primary operational liaison with external global tax advisors and regional accounting firms to ensure local statutory compliance is delivered flawlessly and on time.</p></li><li><p><b>Partner Cross-Functionally:</b> Act as a collaborative internal resource for Finance, Tech, Legal, and HR, advising on the tax implications of commercial decisions, including providing guidance on indirect tax matters (VAT, Sales & Use tax) when needed.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>What You’ll Bring:</b></p><ul><li><p><b>Experience:</b> 4–7 years of progressive corporate tax experience within a regional/Big 4 public accounting firm or a multinational in-house corporate tax department.</p></li><li><p><b>Proactive <span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">Relationship-Building</span> Skills:</b> You are a genuinely collaborative, people-first professional who isn't shy about pick-up-the-phone outreach. Whether it's cold-calling a regional controller in another country to introduce yourself or grabbing coffee with a local business partner, you naturally build the trust and cross-functional relationships needed to get things done.</p></li><li><p><b>International Foundations:</b> Exposure to multi-entity corporate structures and cross-border transactions, with a solid foundational understanding of corporate income tax and US GAAP or IFRS accounting standards.</p></li><li><p><b>A Tech-Enabled Efficiency Mindset:</b> A proven track record of using data tools to optimize accounting or tax workflows.
