The role involves leading the strategy, performance, and profitability of digital off-premise and catering operations, working closely with various departments to enhance the guest experience and drive sales.


Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy and annual plan for digital off-premise and catering, delivering sales and profit targets for Company and Franchise restaurants
  • Lead relationships with third-party delivery providers (DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, etc.), including business reviews, commercial negotiations, issue resolution, and new capability rollouts
  • Build and execute the marketplace promotional calendar (offers, ads, sponsored placements) in partnership with Brand Marketing; optimize funding and spend to maximize incremental profit and ROI
  • Establish menu, pricing, and availability governance across all off-premise channels (third-party delivery marketplaces, first-party web/app, and catering platforms) to protect margins and ensure brand standards
  • Manage first-party delivery through the Church’s app and website, including performance of vendor integrations, order routing, and checkout experience; partner with IT and Operations to maintain reliability and speed
  • Develop, maintain, and socialize off-premise KPI dashboards and insights (sales, margin, fees, average order value, conversion, ratings, cancelations, refunds, and on-time/accuracy)
  • Identify and execute test-and-learn opportunities (bundles, upsells, group ordering, menu architecture, and delivery-fee strategy) to grow profitable mix and improve the guest experience
  • Lead the development, pilot, and system rollout of Church’s catering program, including menu assortment, packaging, pricing, ordering experience, and fulfillment model
  • Manage catering channel partners and platforms (first-party and third-party platforms) and coordinate catering lead generation, local marketing toolkits, and store execution
  • Partner with Operations to define off-premise execution standards (prep time, order staging, pickup/delivery handoff, and driver/guest communication) and drive adoption through training and field support
  • Partner with Finance to manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reconciliation for third-party vendor commissions / fees, marketing investments, refunds/chargebacks, and vendor invoices
  • Collaborate with Legal to ensure partner contracts, brand compliance, and risk mitigation (fraud, refunds, and guest data privacy) are managed appropriately
  • Lead cross-functional project teams (Marketing, IT, Analytics, Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain) to launch new menus, promotions, platform enhancements, and operational tools
  • Communicate performance and recommendations to leadership and franchise stakeholders through regular business reviews; influence decisions with clear, data-driven storytelling
  • Monitor industry and competitor trends across delivery and catering; translate marketplace changes into actionable plans for Church’s

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Analytics, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in restaurant digital commerce / off-premise with direct responsibility for third-party delivery partnerships and/or catering
  • Demonstrated ability to manage marketplace promotions/ads and improve profitability through disciplined ROI and margin management
  • Experience with digital ordering and delivery technology stacks (e.g., Olo Rails / Dispatch or similar middleware / aggregators) and POS integration concepts
  • Strong analytical skills (Excel required) and comfort with BI / reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to translate insights into action
  • Proven cross-functional leadership in a franchise environment; excellent negotiation, communication, and change management skills
