We are looking for a strong and passionate Senior Internal Auditor to join our global team in a permanently remote work set-up as an independent contractor. For this role, we only process candidates that are based in the Philippines. Job Summary The Senior Internal Auditor SOX Compliance (Business Process) is responsible for planning, executing, and reporting on internal control audits and SOX 404 compliance testing. The role ensures the organization complies with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, evaluates the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls, and collaborates with business process owners, external auditors, and other stakeholders to strengthen the control environment and support the companys risk management strategy. Key Responsibilities Lead and perform walkthroughs and detailed testing of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX 404). Evaluate the design and effectiveness of key controls, including business process controls and entity-level controls. Identify control deficiencies, develop practical remediation plans with process owners, and track resolution. Coordinate and maintain strong relationships with external auditors to align SOX testing plans and share testing results. Prepare and review workpapers and testing documentation in accordance with PCAOB and IIA standards. Assist in the annual risk assessment and scoping process for SOX compliance. Provide guidance to business units on internal control best practices and control enhancements. Support or lead other internal audit projects or special reviews, including operational, compliance, and investigative audits, as assigned. Assist in the implementation and continuous improvement of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) tools. Participate in process improvement and automation initiatives related to SOX compliance. Qualifications Education and Certifications Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. CPA, CIA, or CISA certification preferred or actively pursuing. Experience At least five (5) years of experience in internal audit, public accounting (Big 4 preferred), or a combination, with a strong focus on SOX 404 compliance. Experience working in a publicly traded company environment is highly desirable. Technical Skills Strong understanding of COSO Internal Control Integrated Framework (2013). Knowledge of PCAOB standards, SEC requirements, and SOX 404 compliance. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and audit management tools. Proficient with business process and internal controls over financial reporting. Soft Skills Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. High level of integrity and professional skepticism.
