2026-034140 Newport News, Virginia    Full Time Opportunity Responsible for the Integration processes to provide facilitation, coordination/management of patient access to services provided by RHS. Focuses on standardized procedures to coordinate services for the Health Communications Department: Riverside Nurse, Transfer Center and the functions performed in these areas and coordination and development of workflows, protocols, processes for software systems and subsequent education, quality monitors and all activities, initiatives within. Focuses on process improvement to include implementing protocols and processes. Provides leadership, mentorship and coaching with focus on quality and ensuring scheduling needs are met with competent staff with 24/7 Call Center operations and works as staff nurse as needed. Provides data analysis and productivity reports utilized for ongoing opportunities for additional staff education/training and annual evaluations and department staffing. What you will do

  • Ensures Call Center Quality and RHS policy and procedures standards are met. Ensures sustainability of programs and processes across the department. Communicates to leadership using performance and outcome reports, data analytic metrics. Monitors and measures business plan execution, processes and outcomes against plans and benchmarks. Provides system support when appropriate. Analyzes business performance and performs root cause analysis of performance deviations and anomalies with department and staff.
  • Provides analysis and support for Health communications program and processes. Serves as a subject matter expert for health communications workflow. Partners with leadership and staff tie integrate efficient streamlined processes into Riverside Nurse and Transfer Center associated programs/processes. Participants in process improvement initiatives to improve efficiencies and workflow for department.
  • Integrates department/facility operations and services with internal and external departments, to ensure care, policies, processes and services meet the needs of the community we serve.
  • Provides support and planning to ensure department operations sustainability. Supports performance monitoring and direction for improvement of operations related to Riverside Nurse and Transfer Center and those functions that fall under it. Analyzes business performance deviations and helps to drive action items and projects.
Qualifications Education
  • Program Graduate, Registered Nurse (Required)
  • Bachelors Degree, Nursing (Preferred)
Experience
  • 3-4 years Healthcare/Medical - Nurse: Registered Nurse (Required)
  • 1 year Critical Care or ED experience (Preferred)
Skills and Abilities
  • Transfer Center knowledge preferred but not required
  • Nurse Triage knowledge preferred but not required
Licenses and Certifications  
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) (Required)
