As a Residential Shower Lead Glazier Installer at Lake Glass & Mirror, Inc., you will be responsible for the professional installation of custom shower enclosures and related residential glass products in customers’ homes. This role ensures installations are completed safely, accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with company quality standards.

The Installer serves as a front-line ambassador of the company, delivering exceptional customer experience while maintaining craftsmanship excellence, jobsite cleanliness, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Craftsmanship
  • Install custom framed and frameless shower door systems
  • Install heavy glass panels, sliders, hinges, channels, clips, and hardware
  • Measure openings when required to confirm field dimensions
  • Drill tile, stone, and other surfaces safely and accurately
  • Ensure glass is level, plumb, and properly sealed
  • Apply silicone and finishing materials professionally
  • Complete final adjustments and ensure smooth door operation
  • Inspect product for defects prior to and after installation
  • Proactively identify and resolve installation challenges in the field
  • Follow manufacturer specifications and company standards
Jobsite Preparation & Protection
  • Protect flooring, walls, and fixtures prior to installation
  • Maintain clean and organized work area
  • Safely unload and transport glass materials
  • Properly dispose of packaging and debris
  • Leave jobsite cleaner than it was upon arrival
Customer Experience & Communication
  • Arrive on time and in uniform
  • Introduce self professionally and confirm scope of work
  • Set clear expectations regarding time and process
  • Address customer questions respectfully
  • Obtain final approval and signature upon completion
  • Escalate concerns or change orders appropriately
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all company safety protocols
  • Use PPE appropriately
  • Safely lift and handle heavy glass (often 75–150+ lbs with team lift)
  • Maintain clean driving record when operating company vehicle
  • Comply with OSHA and local jobsite requirements
Teamwork & Internal Coordination
  • Coordinate with Scheduling and Sales teams
  • Communicate field issues immediately (measurement discrepancies, damaged product, etc.)
  • Support warehouse with loading and verification of materials
  • Assist with service calls, warranty work, and adjustments
  • Mentor apprentice installers as assigned
Technology & Digital Workflow Compliance
  • Utilize company-issued tablet and Smart Glazier software for all job-related activities
  • Review work orders, drawings, specifications, and notes digitally before beginning installation
  • Confirm measurements and materials against Smart Glazier documentation
  • Upload required pre-install and post-install jobsite photos
  • Complete digital installation checklists in real time
  • Capture customer approvals and digital signatures prior to leaving the jobsite
  • Document field changes, service concerns, or product damage immediately within the system
  • Communicate updates through designated digital channels rather than informal text messages
  • Ensure all job data is accurate, complete, and submitted before closing the job
Tools, Equipment & Company Assets
  • Maintain installation tools in safe working condition
  • Ensure company vehicle is clean, organized, and stocked
  • Protect and maintain company property and equipment
  • Report damaged tools or equipment promptly

Required

  • 5+ years experience installing shower doors or residential glass (preferred)
  • Experience drilling tile and stone
  • Ability to read and interpret measurements and installation drawings
