Job Description Are you a talented and experienced PHP Developer seeking a challenging remote opportunity to build high-performance, scalable web applications? Evolve is looking for a dedicated Remote PHP Developer to join our innovative engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining critical backend systems that power our rapidly growing vacation rental platform. You’ll work with modern PHP frameworks like Laravel, integrate with various APIs, and ensure robust database solutions (primarily MySQL). This position requires a strong grasp of software architecture principles, clean code practices, and a passion for creating efficient, reliable, and testable code. You will collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other engineers in an Agile environment to deliver features that delight our property owners and guests. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure backend services and APIs using PHP and modern frameworks (e.g., Laravel). • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to define, design, and ship new features. • Write clean, well-documented, and testable code, adhering to best practices and coding standards. • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with team members. • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability. • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems to improve performance and reliability. • Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions regarding our backend systems. • Implement and maintain database schemas and ensure data integrity (primarily MySQL). • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve our development processes and tools. Required Skills • 5+ years of professional experience as a PHP Developer. • Strong proficiency in PHP 7+ and experience with modern PHP frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Symfony). • Expertise in designing and interacting with relational databases, particularly MySQL. • Proven experience building and consuming RESTful APIs. • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns. • Experience with version control systems, specifically Git. • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies. • Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team environment. • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
