Job Title: MRI Technologist
Location: Unity Hospital
Hours Per Week: Part-time 20 hrs
Schedule: Tues & Sat 2:30 pm -10:30 pm

On-call: 1 week every 5 weeks; after hours


SUMMARY:
As an MRI Technologist, your ability to empathize with patients, specialized technical skills, and dedication to quality greatly enhance the overall success of MRI imaging for diagnostic use in patient care in RRH Radiology. Performs technical and specialized skills in the operation of a Magnetic Resonance (MRI) Scanner to produce high-quality cross-sectional images for diagnostic purposes, while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients undergoing these procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Equipment Operation. Perform a variety of routine and advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures while monitoring and maintaining essential patient safety under general supervision

  • Patient Care. Maintain accountability for timely and proper service to patients throughout the MRI area; educate patients regarding their procedure and maintain a safe, comfortable and supportive environment for the patient throughout the exam

  • Documentation. Transfer imaging data for archiving and post-data processing; maintain accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology or completion of a Radiologic Technology hospital certificate program.

  • ARRT Magnetic Resonance Imaging Certification; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification (ARRT-R) is required within 6 months of employment.

  • NYS license in Radiologic Technology required, OR must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire.

  • NYS Injection Certification within 6 months of employment. If hired on or before September 13, 2021, a NYS Injection Certification is required by September 1, 2022.

  • BLS Certification within 6 months of employment

New Graduates:

  • An official transcript from an accredited school or a letter emailed directly from the school’s registrar’s office confirming program completion will be accepted upon graduation.

  • Primary source education verification is required within 90 days of graduation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and the ability to work with various software applications.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

  • RT(R) - Registered Radiologic Technologist - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

PAY RANGE: $34.25 - $45.25
