Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a highly skilled<strong> Senior Linux Systems Architect</strong> with extensive experience designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-grade Linux environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in AWS cloud services, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and a thorough technical understanding of both hardware and software systems. This role requires someone who can work independently or as part of a collaborative engineering team, proactively analyze system logs to identify root causes, and architect secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure solutions.<br><br>Key Responsibilities:<br><ul><li>Architect, design, and deploy Linux-based infrastructure solutions across on-premises and AWS environments. </li><li>Lead cloud modernization efforts, including migration, automation, performance optimization, and security hardening.</li><li>Collaborate with existing project teams to:<ul><li>Understand and document the existing geospatial data, metadata, workflows, and code.</li><li>Understand and document the requirements for data management and security.</li><li>Understand and document the existing IT infrastructure. </li></ul></li><li>Establish short-term recommendations for improved data throughput and integrity, and work with the team to implement these changes. </li><li>Develop, define and document system and application architecture that optimizes the system for better data throughput, cost, operational insight, development environments, system support, and system administration. Propose a strategy to move from existing systems to optimized systems and workflows, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. These recommendations shall include:<ul><li>IT infrastructure to support data processing system</li><li>GIS environment and business intelligence </li><li>Processing and storage environments for data to be processed and displayed using geospatial web services.</li></ul></li><li>Operations & Maintenance and Development:<ul><li>Lead the implementation, and maintenance of medium to large-scale government data warehouses and digital archive management systems.</li><li>Develop and implement solutions adhering to Agency (desired) facility, compute, storage, and network policies and strategies.</li><li>Implement and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for government systems to interconnect.</li><li>Monitor and report on metrics, performance, system health, and status of large-scale storage and processing systems.</li></ul></li><li>Help Desk:<ul><li>Provide escalation expert support for users in medium to large-scale data centers.
