Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you will be the legal architect for our commercial engine and a primary strategic partner across the company’s growth initiatives. While your initial focus will be mastering our commercial workflows, this is a foundational role designed for a practitioner who can seamlessly pivot into areas (depending on your experience and interest) such as corporate governance, product counseling, and regulatory strategy as Solace scales. You won’t just “review contracts”; you will build the scalable legal infrastructure that allows us to operate safely and swiftly across the healthcare ecosystem. This is a senior individual contributor role with a direct path to expanded responsibility as you help shape the legal function from the ground up. If you are a builder who believes the best legal teams are deeply embedded in the business, you will thrive here.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Scale the Commercial Engine: You will lead the drafting and negotiation of high-stakes agreements, including MSAs, BAAs, and strategic partnerships. You will design the playbooks and templates that increase deal velocity, allowing our teams to execute with clarity.

Build the Legal Operating System: You will serve as the architect of our legal infrastructure. This is a hands-on requirement to own our tech stack (CLM, Legal AI), automate workflows, and identify process gaps. You will transform legal from a manual function into a data-driven, scalable engine.

Act as a Strategic Growth Partner: You will serve as the primary legal advisor to the broader business. Depending on your background, you will lean in to help product embed legal thinking into marketplace workflows, advise on healthcare regulatory matters, or support the CLO on corporate initiatives such as governance and equity.

Navigate Complexity with Pragmatism: You will translate dense regulatory frameworks into actionable, real-world guidance. You’ll be the person teams go to early because you find pathways through “theoretical risk” to achieve business objectives.

What You Bring to the Table

The Fundamentals: A JD and admission to a US state bar with 6 to 10+ years of experience. You have a deep track record in commercial and healthcare counseling, ideally within a high-growth, in-house environment.

Legal Ops Mastery: You are a systems thinker. You have a proven ability to evaluate, implement, and manage legal tech (CLM, AI tools) and have experience building contract workflows from the ground up to improve efficiency.

A “Builder” Mindset: You thrive in “zero to one” environments. You are comfortable with the ambiguity of a startup and enjoy the challenge of creating order out of chaos, ensuring the legal function evolves alongside the company.

Strategic Versatility: While you are a commercial and ops expert, you have the intellectual curiosity and background to support other pillars of the business. Experience (or a strong desire to lead) in any of the following is highly valued:

Product/Marketplace: Supporting tech-enabled services or advocate matching workflows;

Corporate: Governance, board preparation, or supporting financing rounds;

Regulatory: Navigating the nuances of multi-state healthcare delivery and privacy.

Communication and Presence: You have excellent legal judgment and a “business-first” communication style. You are low-ego, highly collaborative, and capable of influencing stakeholders across the organization without relying on “red tape.”

Applicants must be based in the United States.

Up for the Challenge?

We look forward to meeting you.

Fraudulent Recruitment Advisory: Solace Health will NEVER request bank details or offer employment without an interview.
