A bachelor’s degree is required, and in support of all aspects of transmission studies on power flow, voltage stability, transient stability, and other power system analyses. Some experience with PSS/E, PSLF, TARA, or similar software for power system studies is required.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>In this role, you will:</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Performing power system analysis and network modeling to meet client specifications in reliability, regulation, and quality requirements.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Conducting studies in areas such as generator connections, voltage stability, arc-flash energy, insulation coordination, and power station design.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Preparing detailed technical reports and contributing to technical work products.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Collaborating with a global team to execute studies and deliver high-quality solutions.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Managing client relationships and expectations, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Contributing to business development activities and identifying new client opportunities.</p></li></ul><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Will perform power system analysis for transmission system, including power flow, voltage stability, transient stability and short circuit analyses.</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>You’re likely a great fit if you:</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Preferred master’s degree in Power Systems Engineering</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Some experience in stability study using PSS/E, congestion analysis/cost modeling studies or cluster feasibility studies across various ISOs (MISO, CAISO, PJM, SPP or other ISOs)</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Knowledge in electric power system, synchronous generator, motor, power electronic inverters, wind turbines and solar.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experience with transmission studies on power flow, voltage stability, and other power system analyses.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Proficient with the PSS®E software package, including all modules for load-flow, short-circuit and transient stability analysis. Experience with alternative planning software applications, including TARA, PSLF, DigSILENT, or DSA Tools, is highly desirable</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Background in static and dynamic modelling of power systems components in PSS/E or DSA tools, including HVDC, VSC, Static Var Compensators, STATCOM and Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitors.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">PSS/E model development and IPLAN and/or Python programming is an asset</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Knowledge of reliability and interconnection of the transmission system.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Eager to learn ISO cluster interconnection process and transmission stability analysis</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Knowledge of substation layout and protection and control</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><p style="min-height:1.5em">At E Source, you’ll work alongside people who are thoughtful, curious, and deeply knowledgeable about utility and energy systems.
