Become an integral part of the Matchbox team as a Host/Hostess and be the welcoming face of our vibrant restaurant. As a Host, you will create a warm and inviting atmosphere, ensuring that every guest feels valued and has an exceptional dining experience from the moment they step through our doors. Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests with a friendly and positive attitude, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
  • Manage the waitlist and seating arrangements efficiently, ensuring accurate and timely seating of guests.
  • Provide accurate and helpful information to guests regarding menus, specials, and restaurant policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization at the host stand and lobby area, making a great first impression on guests.
  • Coordinate with the serving staff and kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient flow of guest seating and service.

Qualifications

  • Experience in high volume, upscale causal dining or an equivalent service environment preferred.
  • Able to work flexible shifts and schedules, inclusive of weekends, and some holidays.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours).
  • Lift and carry up to 20 lbs (e.g., menus, high chairs, booster seats).
  • Reach, bend, and stoop occasionally.
  • Use hands and arms to operate reservation systems and phones.
  • Clear verbal communication skills and ability to interact with guests in a busy environment.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed while multitasking in a fast-pace setting.
