VergeSense customers use our Occupancy Intelligence Platform, which is built on a foundation of the industry's most accurate occupancy sensors and other data sources, to right-size their portfolio, validate space planning and designs, optimize cleaning operations, and ensure their teams can always find spaces to work.</span></p><p><br></p><p> </p><p>Position Summary: The Controller is responsible for all accounting and operational functions including, but not limited to annual audit management, general ledger accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, cash management, regulatory, tax compliance, revenue recognition, commissions and equity as well as the development and documentation of internal control policies and procedures.</p> <p> </p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring a standard level of internal controls, audit procedures, and technical accounting principles are being applied correctly.</p> </li> <li> <p>Lead and manage the accounting team, providing direction, coaching, and appropriate and timely performance feedback to ensure operational excellence and professional growth.</p> </li> <li> <p>Ensure that the organization’s financial records are maintained in compliance with organizational policies and GAAP.</p> </li> <li> <p>Prepare for, coordinate, and lead the annual audit process including being the liaison between external auditors and key stakeholders.</p> </li> <li> <p>Lead a high-quality and timely monthly close process.</p> </li> <li> <p>Ensure timely billing, cash collections, and preparation of weekly and monthly cash-flow reports and projections.</p> </li> <li> <p>Work closely with the Revenue Operations team to manage the quote-to-cash business process. </p> </li> <li> <p>Ensure proper controls and accounting procedures are documented and effective.</p> </li> <li> <p>Monitor and control inventory balances and activity with third-party manufacturers.</p> </li> <li> <p>Oversee tax and regulatory reporting across all applicable geographies, including international compliance as the company continues to expand global reach.</p> </li> <li> <p>Communicate Accounting priorities and processes cross-functionally.</p> </li> <li> <p>Champion the adoption of AI tools and intelligent automation across the accounting function to maximize efficiency, reduce manual error, and accelerate the financial close.</p> </li> <li> <p>Evaluate, pilot, and implement AI-enabled solutions (e.g., ML-based anomaly detection, reconciliation automation, AI-powered invoice processing, automated journal entries) to streamline core workflows.</p> </li> <li> <p>Leverage agentic AI capabilities to initiate tasks, monitor workflows, and automate  processes (e.g., continuous reconciliation monitoring, real-time cash flow surveillance, proactive compliance flagging)</p> </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>BA/BS in Accounting or Finance</p> </li> <li> <p>CPA preferred</p> </li> <li> <p>10+ years of accounting experience, including 5+ years of experience managing a team of finance and accounting professionals.</p> </li> <li> <p>Hands on NetSuite (specifically ARM) administration experience, SFDC sku to NetSuite product item mapping, and tax management (Avalara exp preferred).</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience in a Startup environment, with the ability to be responsive to changing priorities</p> </li> <li> <p>Must have experience with managing the scope, timelines, and technical accounting aspects of a financial audit.</p> </li> <li> <p>Big-4 auditing experience is strongly preferred.</p> </li> <li> <p>Strong SaaS model experience is required, with knowledge and understanding of traditional SaaS metrics.</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience with managing inventory and overseeing cost accounting is preferred.</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience with implementing technical accounting guidelines, such as ASC 606, 842, 730, etc., and comfort with the preparation of technical memos.</p> </li> <li> <p>Deep understanding of and experience in financial reporting, establishing internal controls, and audit readiness/execution.</p> </li> <li> <p>International business experience, including regulatory compliance and inter-company consolidations. </p> </li> <li> <p>Observant, accurate, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience managing a team of professionals, providing leadership, and fostering an environment of teamwork and professional growth.</p> </li> <li> <p>Hands-on professional who excels at both strategy and execution.</p> </li> </ul> <p></p> <p></p><p><br></p><p></p> <div>$190,000 -
