VBPC offers acute psychiatric and substance abuse services for adults 18 years and older. The hospital is accessible 24 hours a day for admissions, and includes mental health assessments and an excellent referral network. Treatment programs and specialty services at VBPC include substance abuse, dual diagnosis and partial hospitalization.</p><p style="margin: 0px;"> </p><p style="margin: 0px;">VBPC currently has a PRN  Assessment and Referral Clinician position available. The candidate must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays. The candidate selected will be responsible for the following: Provides telephonic or face-to-face mental health crisis triage, assessment, intervention and disposition at Assessment and Referral Centers or "on-site" at general hospital emergency room, therapist's or physician's office. Answers the telephone crisis line and obtains all pertinent demographic, clinical, marketing and third party information to determine the appropriateness of face-to-face telephonic assessment and clinical disposition of the caller; seeks supervision when caller requests information/data unfamiliar to counselor. Provides clinically appropriate resolution to those calls evaluated as information only. Provides clinically appropriate telephonic disposition to those clients whose calls are evaluated as routine; referring to outpatient care as appropriate. Schedules face-to-face clinical assessments within twenty-four (24) hours if the call is evaluated as urgent or emergent. Refers calls not appropriate for care within the UHS systems matrix to other clinically appropriate providers and/or community resources.</p><p style="margin: 0px;"> </p> <br><strong> Qualifications </strong><br><br><p style="margin: 0px;"> </p><p style="margin: 0px;"> </p><p style="margin: 0px;">The following are the job requirements for the Clinician position: Requires Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a degree and licensure as a Registered Nurse and one or more years of direct or related mental health counseling experience; prefer mental health crisis counseling experience. Must possess knowledge of current psychiatric diagnoses and treatment terminology; completed biopsychosocial patient assessments, including conducting formal mental status evaluation and patient medical history; community resources; third party payers, including managed care companies to develop and clinically appropriate crisis intervention and disposition plan; basic typing and computer literacy.</p><p style="margin: 0px;"> </p><p style="margin: 0px;"><strong>Shift Details:PRN.
