In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to find the best-fit solutions for prospects to support the long-term success of the customer. Collaborating with sales partners, you'll facilitate product adoption and account growth with a winning mindset for Akamai and our customers.

As a Solutions Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

  • Creating sales opportunities by managing the pre-sales technical process and demonstrating Akamai's technology to customers.
  • Managing the technical proposal process and ensuring all technical information and recommendations addressing customer requirements are accurate.
  • Tracking account activity for business analysis and reporting, designing technical solutions to meet our customer's needs.
  • Leading sales activities such as Technical Demos and Proof of Concepts (POC's).
  • Maximizing customer satisfaction based on the customer's needs and business requirements.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:
  • Have 5yrs of experience and a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or another related field
  • Have experience working in a customer-facing or consulting role in technical presales/sales engineering/post-sales.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the internet, including but not limited to technologies like TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP(S), APIs etc.
  • Have experience or an interest in working with DevOps, Media or Internet Security
  • Have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills including communicating complex technical content to a range of audiences.
  • Be a team player, able to collaborate, prioritize, and solve problems in a fast changing environment

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $91,600 - $190,400/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
