Job Title: Service/Repair Technician

Job Description

Technicians are responsible for servicing a variety of restaurant equipment including beverage machines, non-carbonated dispensers, fountain beverage equipment, ice makers, and juice dispensers. This role requires minimal supervision and attendance at weekly service center meetings. Technicians will be provided with a vehicle, uniforms, tools, cell phone, and gas card.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and respond to dispatched service calls promptly, adhering to the estimated time of arrival.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair service issues.
  • Ensure quality control by checking syrup levels, changing flavors, and cleaning machines.
  • Maintain inventory and perform maintenance on parts, tools, and vehicles.
  • Document all work performed and finalize activities upon completion.
  • Ensure point of sale material is current.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
  • Handle machine movement and perform various other duties as required.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in mechanical and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Field service experience.
  • Basic plumbing skills.
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs regularly, with occasional lifting of over 70 lbs.
  • DOT Medical Card
  • Clear driving record with a valid driver's license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • HVAC or refrigeration experience is a plus, but not required
  • EPA certification for refrigerant handling is advantageous.
  • Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screening including Motor Vehicle Record Report (no more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years)
  • Steel-toed shoes are required; other uniforms are provided.
  • Entry-level candidates with an HVAC degree are welcomed.

Work Environment

The role involves servicing a variety of locations across the entire state of North Dakota, including movie theaters, gas stations, coffee shops, and more. There are no overnight stays, but significant travel time is expected. Work is typically Monday through Friday, 10-12 hour days, starting between 6 AM and 7 AM. All drive time is compensated, with the expectation to work 50-60 hours per week. Training is conducted in Fargo for 3-4 weeks, and technicians are dispatched from home daily. Candidates should expect to report back to the shop at the end of the day for paperwork and parts handling. Upon hire, there will be 3-4 weeks of training in Fargo, ND and the candidate will work independently from there. All travel and lodging is covered during training.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
