We are guided by our core values: our people are our most important resource; we have a commitment to quality work, all the time; and we work as a team with each other and with our clients - we foster camaraderie.</p> <p><strong>About the Position</strong></p> <p>The Word Processor supports both Transactional and Litigation practices, with responsibilities that include preparing and editing legal documents, spreadsheets, presentations and PDFs, formatting documents, troubleshooting document issues, and transcribing dictation.  Our work environment is busy and collaborative, so adaptability, readiness to multitask and think critically, efficiency, close attention to detail and a strong sense of teamwork are key qualities needed to thrive in this position. This position is currently designated as remote; however, work must be performed within the state of California. Employees are required to maintain a primary residence and work location in California.</p> <p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong><strong>:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Produce and edit complex legal documents including purchase, leasing, joint venture and corporate documents, pleadings, court forms and various other documents, while adhering to Firm styles and guidelines.</li> <li>Assist with Word document formatting, styling and cleanup.</li> <li>Conversion of PDFs to Word documents and other formats.</li> <li>Perform complex document revisions based markups and attorney instructions in a timely manner.</li> <li>Substantial editing of transactional documents such as leases and purchase documents, often with heavy revisions containing track changes, requiring formatting, styles, headers/footers, Table of Contents and Indexes.</li> <li>Create and update Tables of Authorities and Tables of Contents in Pleadings.</li> <li>Create and edit PowerPoint presentations.</li> <li>Manage electronic files in NetDocuments.</li> <li>Create, format and edit spreadsheets.</li> <li>Accurate transcription of digital dictation.</li> <li>Assist end users with troubleshooting document issues.</li> <li>Handle various assignments simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment while being responsive and meeting deadlines.</li> <li>Actively monitor and manage workflow in shared Outlook inbox and BigHand Hub work folders.</li> <li>Prepare and circulate documents for signature using DocuSign.</li> <li>Edit exhibit images in photo editing software.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Education and/or Experience</strong><strong>:</strong></p> <p>High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred. 3-5 years of law firm word processing experience required.</p> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong><strong>:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet tight deadlines in response to business needs.</li> <li>Demonstrated sound judgment and the capacity to handle confidential information with discretion.</li> <li>Self-motivated and able to follow instructions accurately while working independently in a fast-paced environment.</li> <li>Strong collaboration skills and a team-oriented approach to working with fellow Word Processors.</li> <li>Highly organized and detail-oriented, with expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Word.</li> <li>Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills, with the ability to engage professionally across all levels of the organization.</li> <li>Exceptional spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, and proofreading abilities.</li> <li>Minimum typing speed of 70 words per minute.</li> <li>Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, Microsoft Visio, and experience with NetDocuments or similar document management systems.</li> <li>Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, AIA Contract Documents, AIR CRE, DocuSign and Litera Best Authority is strongly preferred.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Other Duties</strong><br>Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. The anticipated base salary range for this full-time role is $75,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year.
