Over 200,000 scientists around the world trust Benchling to power their most important work, from academic labs to Sanofi, Moderna, and more than half of the world's top 50 biopharma.<br></p><h2><strong>ROLE OVERVIEW</strong></h2><p style="min-height:1.5em">We’re looking for a Technical Solutions Architect with expertise across life sciences R&D and complex software systems, working as the key technical partner to both customer and internal engineering teams to design and deliver impactful solutions that drive scientific progress.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">In this role, you will work with customer developers and IT leaders, using your extensive knowledge of Benchling, modern SaaS technologies, and complex scientific processes ensure successful integration of Benchling within complex IT ecosystems. You will be responsible for scoping end user requirements, designing solutions, and ensuring the successful delivery of custom automation and integration solutions for Benchling users. <br></p><h2><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></h2><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Lead technical consulting engagements with IT professionals at the cutting edge of biotechnology to understand their IT landscape (<em>e.g., scientific/informatics software and instruments</em>) and recommend how best Benchling can enable their informatics vision.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Design, prototype, and oversee the delivery of cloud-based integrations and automations on top of Benchling’s developer platform.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Engage cross-functionally with product and engineering to communicate customer feedback, and align proposed solutions with Benchling roadmap and feature availability.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Collaborate with project and implementation managers to enable complex rollouts at large enterprise customers, proactively identifying technical risks and product gaps and designing solutions around them.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Build and deliver convincing demos or POCs during initial stages of implementation projects to ensure stakeholder alignment, on proposed solutions.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Leverage industry and project experience to contribute to Benchling’s technical documentation, and developer platform product roadmap.</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"> </p><h2><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></h2><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">B.S in a life sciences discipline or engineering/computer science</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">5+ years of client-facing software implementation and/or consulting experience, with demonstrated success managing enterprise-scale SaaS projects.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Comfortable using REST APIs and Python to design and build integration demos, and write and share example code with customer Developers.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Demonstrated success in technical leadership and conceptual modeling to turn complex and abstract concepts into technical assets.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Familiar with modern cloud software development processes, tools, and architectures.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present complex technical solutions clearly to diverse audiences and work effectively across internal teams.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Ability to travel to customer sites up to 10-20% based on customer and project needs.<br> </p></li></ul><h2><strong>SALARY & BENEFITS</strong></h2><p style="min-height:1.5em">Full-time employees outside the U.S. enjoy a comprehensive benefits program tailored to their region of residence.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em">Benchling takes a market-based approach to pay.
