On Time Mobility is a locally owned and operated company based in Wichita. We provide transportation for students to and from school using independent contractors in their own vehicles. We serviced 12,500 routes in the 2024-2025 school year and ranked #1 in the country to on time performance.

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and professional Student Transportation Manager with strong leadership skills to join our team. This is primarily a remote/online position with minimal field work (less than 10%), supporting daily student transportation operations across the Wichita area.

Position Overview

This role is critical to ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services for students. The manager will take a leadership role in guiding drivers, making real-time decisions, and maintaining high service standards, while serving as a key point of contact for school district partners.

Schedule:

  • 4–6 hours per day
  • Follows the school calendar
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support drivers to ensure safe, timely, and professional service
  • Monitor and manage daily transportation routes in real time
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers and transportation staff
  • Coordinate and secure substitute drivers when needed
  • Maintain and update driver compliance documents and records
  • Ensure drivers are equipped with required student safety equipment
  • Address and resolve driver and student-related issues promptly and effectively
  • Handle student behavioral concerns with professionalism and sound judgment
  • Maintain accurate records while ensuring student and driver confidentiality
Requirements
  • Must reside in Wichita, KS
  • Reliable personal vehicle
  • Reliable cell phone
  • Quiet, professional workspace for calls and communication during work hours
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, support, and hold drivers accountable
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable using multiple systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven problem-solving ability and attention to detail
  • High level of professionalism at all times
  • The ability to service a transportation route in emergency cases if another driver isn't available.
Qualifications
  • Ability to pass state and federal background checks
  • Ability to pass random drug screenings
  • Clean driving record (no more than 2 violations in the past 7 years)
  • Experience working with children, especially those with special needs
