Why you'll love this job The Account Manager/ Sr Account Manager, In-Market is part of the Global Sales team within the Commercial Division. This role will drive revenue growth and customer satisfaction by taking ownership of client acquisition, expanding portfolios, and supporting account management through direct customer engagement. This role offers an annual salary range \$101,500-\$131,000.

Responsibilities

  • Produce sales-qualified opportunities by proactively researching and identifying new business prospects, as well by converting inbound leads from marketing or other channels
  • Manage and nurture relationships with existing clients who are actively purchasing or using American Airlines' products and services
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within your assigned territory, focusing on customers who are \"in the market\" and engaged in transactions or decision-making
  • Collaborate with sales colleagues to schedule meetings, transfer sales-qualified opportunities, and develop account targeting strategies.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and loyalty
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Sales, Marketing, and Operations, to deliver customized solutions that meet customers' unique needs
  • Support Account Managers with end traveler outreach at points of aggregation (e.g., episodic event activation, office visits for Loyalty promotions etc.)
  • Conduct regular business reviews with clients to ensure their needs are being met and identify areas for improvement
  • Analyze sales data and local market trends and share insights with internal stakeholders, including sales strategy, marketing and customer engagement teams
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of American Airlines' products and services, and act as a subject-matter expert on competitive positioning of American Airlines in the local market

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in sales
  • Strong understanding of the airline industry and American Airlines' products and services
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze complex data and develop effective sales strategies
  • Strong understanding of the airline industry and American Airlines' products and services
  • CRM software and sales analytics tools (e.g. Salesforce, Tableau)
  • American Airlines' systems and processes (e.g. Sabre, Amadeus)

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of experience in sales, with a focus on managing existing client relationships
  • MBA or advanced degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • Experience working with CRM software and sales analytics tools
  • Familiarity with American Airlines' systems and processes
