Progress starts with you.</p><p></p><p><span style="color:#005cb9"><b>Job Description</b></span></p><p></p><p>The Data Reliability Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team focused on designing, building, and evolving cloud-native, containerized infrastructure that powers our data products and services. This role plays a critical part in advancing our platform maturity by enabling cross-functional squads, driving complex technical initiatives, and ensuring the availability, security, scalability, and reliability of our data ecosystem.<br><br>As a Manager, you will bring strong leadership capabilities along with deep expertise in systems design, cloud infrastructure, networks, databases, and modern data technologies. You will be responsible for guiding and developing engineering talent, setting priorities, driving execution, and partnering across teams to deliver resilient, scalable, and secure platform solutions. You will also help lead the adoption of new technologies, infrastructure automation practices, and operational excellence across high-scale distributed systems.<br><br>In this role, you will balance technical leadership, people management, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work closely with engineering, product, and platform stakeholders to align team objectives with business priorities, remove delivery obstacles, and foster a culture of reliability, accountability, and continuous improvement</p><p><span><span>This is a remote<span> </span></span><span>position</span><span>. Remote</span><span><span> </span>positions may<span> </span></span><span>be required</span><span><span> </span>to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice.</span></span><span> </span></p><p></p><p><span style="color:#005cb9"><b>Qualifications</b></span></p><p></p><p>Basic Qualifications:</p><p>8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.</p><p></p><p>Preferred Qualifications:</p><p>9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD</p><p>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience</p><p>3+ years of experience managing teams focused in infrastructure engineering, site reliability engineering, platform engineering, data engineering, or a related technical discipline</p><p>Proven experience designing, building, and operating cloud-native, containerized infrastructure that supports data products and services</p><p>Strong expertise in AWS or Azure cloud services, including compute, networking, storage, identity and access management, and security</p><p>Experience with container orchestration platforms, such as Kubernetes, preferably in Azure or AWS Kubernetes Service or similar environments</p><p>Strong knowledge of systems design, distributed systems, networking, databases, and modern data platform technologies</p><p>Experience implementing and managing infrastructure as code, automation, and configuration management practices</p><p>Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives focused on availability, scalability, reliability, security, and operational excellence</p><p>Experience partnering with cross-functional teams, including engineering, platform, security, and product stakeholders</p><p>Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence technical direction and align teams around shared priorities</p><p>Proven ability to work effectively in a remote environment and manage competing priorities across distributed teams</p><p></p><p><span style="color:#005cb9"><b>Visa is an EEO Employer</b></span></p><p>Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or protected veteran status.
