To learn more about the “Montefiore Difference” – who we are at Montefiore and all that we have to offer our associates, please click here.   Job Summary Sr. Dietary Worker performs a variety of duties relating to delivery and serving patient's food trays and assisting patients in menu selection, and retrieval of food carts. Acts as a critical liaison between patient and Food Service Department. Essential Functions Deliver, serve, and retrieve patient food trays. * To ensure each patient's dietary needs are met. Assist patients in menu selection. * To identify food preferences. Assemble and deliver early/late trays. * To ensure each patient's dietary needs are met. Deliver bulk stock, supplements, and tube feeding to units/patient rooms and return unused cans to the main kitchen. * Units are sufficiently stocked. Collect all soiled trays and utensils from units (including isolation rooms) on a timely basis and transport trucks to dish room. * Patient rooms are free of soiled trays and utensils. Ensure the patient receives an accurate and complete food tray. Handle tray errors and late trays. * There must be 100% tray accuracy at all times. By a pre-established schedule, transport food trucks to patient floors. * To ensure that all patients are fed on a preset schedule. By a pre-established schedule retrieves food trucks from patient floors. * To assure soiled food trucks are clean and available for the next meal. Provides and maintains a safe environment through preventative and interventional measures. * Adherence to MMC's Infection Control, Safety, and Disaster P & P's. Tags and removes broken equipment immediately. Communicates information regarding broken equipment to the charge person of the unit. Maintains required standards set forth by the NYSDOH by maintaining sanitary and safety standards. * Visual inspections by Supervisors who refer to a checklist as mandated by the NYSDOH. Trains other employees in his/her area of responsibility. * To assure competent coverage of this position when a regular associate is not available. Utilizes effective interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate effectively with the Food and Nutrition Team. * 100% compliance to quality. Communicates observations of patient/customer status to professionals. Assists other staff members on a team within the scope of practice. Interacts with co-workers in a manner that promotes team building. Is responsible and accountable for own actions. * Adheres to MMC'S HR P & P. Reports on/off duty to designated Supervisor for the smooth running of the operation.
