Our client, a leading innovator in online education, is seeking a passionate and skilled Curriculum Development Specialist to join their team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute to shaping educational experiences for K-12 students from anywhere in the US. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and revising engaging and effective curricula for online learning environments across various subject areas. This role requires a deep understanding of pedagogical principles, instructional design methodologies, and the unique demands of digital education. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in curriculum development, a strong commitment to student success, and experience with learning management systems (LMS) and educational technology. Responsibilities Design and develop comprehensive K-12 curriculum materials, including lesson plans, learning objectives, instructional strategies, assessments, and supplementary resources for online delivery. Ensure curriculum content is aligned with relevant state and national educational standards (e.g., Common Core, NGSS). Collaborate with subject matter experts, teachers, and instructional designers to create high-quality, engaging, and pedagogically sound learning experiences. Incorporate best practices in online learning, universal design for learning (UDL), and differentiated instruction into curriculum design. Develop a variety of assessment tools, including formative and summative assessments, to measure student learning and progress. Review and revise existing curriculum materials to ensure accuracy, relevance, and effectiveness. Utilize learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technologies to deliver and manage curriculum content. Conduct research on emerging trends in education and curriculum development to inform instructional design. Facilitate professional development for educators on curriculum implementation and effective online teaching strategies. Manage curriculum development projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality materials. Contribute to the development of program-level educational strategies and frameworks. Evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum through student performance data and feedback. Qualifications Master's degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Instructional Design, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in K-12 curriculum development and instructional design. Demonstrated experience in designing curriculum for online or blended learning environments. Thorough understanding of pedagogical theories, learning science, and instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM). Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Schoology, Blackboard) and authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate). Knowledge of state and national K-12 educational standards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex educational concepts. Strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting. Experience with educational technology integration is essential.
