In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team while utilizing your inpatient coding expertise in a fast-paced healthcare environment.</p><p></p><p>The ideal candidate is analytical, curious, and resourceful — someone who enjoys researching coding guidelines, navigating complex medical records, and continuously expanding their knowledge within the coding field.</p><p></p><p><b>What You’ll Do</b></p><ul><li>Review and accurately code inpatient rehabilitation medical records using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding guidelines.</li><li>Analyze clinical documentation to ensure accurate DRG assignment and compliant coding practices.</li><li>Research complex coding questions and apply federal regulations, payer requirements, and coding standards appropriately.</li><li>Partner with providers, CDI specialists, and internal teams to support documentation accuracy and coding quality.</li><li>Utilize EMR and encoder systems to efficiently review and code patient accounts.</li><li>Maintain productivity and quality expectations while ensuring attention to detail.</li><li>Stay informed on coding updates, regulatory changes, and industry best practices related to inpatient rehabilitation coding.</li><li>Identify opportunities for documentation and process improvement through analytical review and critical thinking.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>What We’re Looking For</b></p><ul><li>3+ years of inpatient coding experience required, with rehabilitation coding experience strongly preferred.</li><li>Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, DRG assignment, and inpatient coding guidelines.</li><li>Experience working within EMR systems required; experience with Invision preferred.</li><li>RHIA, RHIT, or CCS coding certification preferred.</li><li>Strong research and analytical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex clinical documentation.</li><li>Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote or fast-paced environment.</li><li>Strong communication and collaboration skills.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>What Makes You Successful in This Role</b></p><ul><li>You enjoy problem-solving and digging into complex coding scenarios.</li><li>You are naturally curious and committed to continuous learning.</li><li>You thrive in an environment where accuracy and critical thinking matter.</li><li>You can adapt quickly to different systems, workflows, and changing priorities.</li><li>You take pride in producing high-quality, compliant work while supporting team success.</li></ul><p></p><p>Note: Savista is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $28.00 - $33.00 an hour.
