In this mid-level role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, operation, and continuous improvement of our virtual machine infrastructure across VMware/vSphere and Microsoft Azure environments. You will work closely with platform, DevOps, and application teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and well-governed IaaS services. Key Responsibilities:<ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li>Administer, operate, and support virtual machine infrastructure across VMware vSphere and Microsoft Azure environments</li><li>Provision, configure, and decommission VMs in alignment with organizational standards and capacity plans</li><li>Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles for automated configuration management, patching, and compliance enforcement</li><li>Monitor VM health, performance, and resource utilization; identify and resolve infrastructure incidents in a timely manner</li><li>Collaborate with platform engineering and security teams to implement hardening standards and ensure infrastructure-as-code best practices</li><li>Participate in on-call operational support for VM-related incidents and service requests (e.g., patch management, certificate rotation)</li><li>Maintain accurate documentation for VM runbooks, configurations, and operational procedures</li><li>Contribute to lifecycle management activities including OS patching, image management, and template standardization</li><li>Support capacity planning efforts by tracking utilization trends and making recommendations for rightsizing or scaling</li><li>Assist in evaluating new tooling and technologies to improve automation, observability, and operational efficiency</li></ul> Required Experience: <ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li>3–5 years of hands-on experience managing virtual machine infrastructure in enterprise environments</li><li>Proficiency with VMware vSphere, including ESXi, vCenter, and VM lifecycle management</li><li>Demonstrated experience with Ansible for configuration management and automation</li><li>Solid understanding of networking concepts (VLANs, subnets, DNS, load balancing) as they relate to VM connectivity</li><li>Experience with Linux and Windows Server administration in a virtualized environment</li><li>Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code principles and practices</li><li>Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across computer, storage, and network layers</li><li>Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent tasks with minimal supervision</li><li>Must reside within the United States</li><li>Requires additional fingerprint/background clearance, and ongoing recertification every 3 years.</li></ul> Preferred Qualifications:<ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li>Working experience with Microsoft Azure IaaS services (Virtual Machines, VNets, Managed Disks, Azure Resource Manager)</li><li>Experience with Azure CLI, OpenTofu, or similar for infrastructure provisioning automation</li><li>Familiarity with VM image/template pipelines (e.g., Cloud Init)</li><li>Exposure to monitoring and observability platforms (e.g., Splunk, AppDynamics, Azure Monitor)</li><li>Knowledge of ITIL or similar IT service management frameworks</li><li>Relevant certifications such as VMware VCP, Microsoft AZ-104, or Red Hat RHCSA/RHCE</li></ul> Flexible WorkingAt Conduent, we value individuality and flexible working arrangements. The estimated salary range for this role is $96,250-$125,000 annually.
