The Opportunity
Training Schedule : Monday - Friday, 9 - 5:30pm EST for the first 3 weeks.
Shift details : 12:30-9pm EST, Monday - Friday.
PLUS One weekend (Saturday & Sunday) a month (10-7pm EST) on a rotating schedule
On the week you work weekend, you will be given 2 days off during the week to compensate for the weekend work. (not necessarily consecutive.)
Candidates that are within 50 miles and commutable to a MetLife office will be required in-office 1x per month.
The Inbound Sales Representative - Pet Insurance is responsible for driving new pet insurance policy sales by engaging directly with pet parents through inbound calls, email, and chat in a fast-paced contact center environment across the United States. Guided by our purpose- always with you, building a more confident future -and aligned with MetLife's growth strategy, this role plays a critical part in expanding access to affordable pet insurance solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for a customer-focused sales professional to educate pet parents, solve problems, and deliver a WOW! experience that builds trust, loyalty, and long-term customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage inbound phone, email, and chat inquiries from pet parents to educate, recommend, and sell pet insurance policies.
  • Optimize inbound leads and manage time effectively to consistently meet or exceed sales and performance goals.
  • Build strong rapport with customers by reinforcing the value of MetLife's brand and pet insurance products while delivering a high-quality customer experience.
  • Resolve customer questions and concerns efficiently to minimize wait times and support customer retention.
  • Develop and maintain strong product knowledge to confidently explain coverage options, benefits, and policy details.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years of sales experience, preferably in a customer-facing role.
  • Active Property & Casualty Producers insurance license in home state required prior to hire, with the ability to obtain licenses in all 50 states as a condition of employment.
  • Proven attendance reliability and ability to manage workload in a structured, performance-driven environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends based on business needs.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated sales success in an inbound service or direct sales environment, preferably within insurance or financial services.
  • Experience in a contact center or service-oriented environment with strong objection-handling skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with performance metrics and deadlines.
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and phone communication skills with a professional, customer-first sales mindset.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and internet-based systems, with strong attention to detail and adherence to policies and procedures.

The expected salary range for this position is $41,600 . This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
