About the position

The Power Delivery Governance Manager is responsible for Power Delivery portfolio capital governance across the state of Georgia during a time of substantial growth. This role is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and supporting governance frameworks across the organization’s capital portfolio. This position acts as a bridge between leadership, AFT, project controls, and project management to ensure transparency, accountability and consistency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of eight internal personnel including a supervisor and analysts
  • Define and maintain policies, standards, and procedures for capital project lifecycle management
  • Ensure consistent application of governance across capital projects and programs
  • Drive continuous improvement of governance processes and standards based on lessons learned and performance data
  • Ensure alignment of capital portfolio with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with project controls and project management to ensure reliable and accurate cost, schedule and risk data, as well as standardized reporting across the portfolio
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements
  • Support audits and regulatory filings related to capital investments
  • Drive accountability for project governance through governance structures and processes
  • Lead communication of governance recommendations, outcomes and decisions
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with Power Delivery Leadership, Transmission Project Management Organization, Distribution Project Controls, Distribution Portfolio Management and Project Shared Services

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or other relevant disciple preferred
  • Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience
  • Executive level presentation skills, as well as effective verbal and written communication of complex concepts
  • Strong understanding of capital project lifecycles and/or governance structures
  • Experience in one or more areas preferred: capital governance, project controls, program/project management, finance
  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to deliver high quality outcomes
  • Advanced analytical and financial acumen
  • Ability to influence without direct authority
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a highly matrixed organization
  • Proven ability and determination to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • High level of ownership and self-motivated to deliver high-quality outcomes
  • Strong critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, problem-solving skills and resourcefulness
