MAJOR JOB DUTIES: Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for full knowledge of all menu items, ingredients, and prices, including beverage.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the sequence of service and follow it at all times.
  • Able to describe all items on menu and drink specials.
  • Assist other servers to give the best possible service.
  • Perform necessary sidework.
  • Handle guest checks according to internal hotel policy.
  • Follow departmental rules to ensure safety, cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
  • Responsible for proper uniform attire and proper name tag.
  • Serve all food and beverages with proper garnishes.
  • Monitor all tables in station to be sure that they are maintained in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Make every possible effort to approach every table within two minutes.
  • Maintain teamwork with other team members at all times.
  • Maintain a level of service, be able to greet a guest within 1 minute, approach the table within 2 minutes, and serve cocktails/beverages within 3 minutes.
  • Must provide courteous and friendly service to all guests and team members.
  • Performs related work as requested.

EXPERIENCE: Experience in high volume, full service restaurant with tray service preferred.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED.

SKILLS: Ability to present self in a professional, pleasant, confident and well groomed manner. Full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules, policies and procedures. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationship with staff. Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English. Required to pass written exam, to determine knowledge of menu and beverage items, and sequence of service. MMS and Micros experience preferred.
