THIS POSITION IS BASED OUT OF OUR WEST MONROE, LOUISIANA OFFICE. IN-OFFICE IS PREFERRED BY REMOTE WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR QUALIFIED CANDIDATES.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

As the Financial Controller, you’ll be responsible for managing and optimizing our financial operations. This includes overseeing all financial aspects of the business from financial compliance to managing all financial statements, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), M&A activities, and assisting with the preparation for board reporting. This position reports directly to the CFO and works closely with all departments for financial compliance.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Financial Operations Management:
    • Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
    • Ensure timely and accurate financial transaction processing and reconciliation.
    • Direct responsibility for the General Ledger as well as all financial reporting.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
    • Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and manage financial risks effectively.
  • Financial Strategy and Growth Initiatives:
    • Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies that support business growth and expansion.
    • Evaluate investment opportunities and provide financial insights for decision-making.
  • Audit and Taxation:
    • Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors.
    • Ensure timely completion of audits and compliance with tax obligations.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
    • Provide guidance and professional development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.

WHAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Financial Controller or in a similar financial management role within construction industry.
  • Working knowledge of ASC606.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting standards, cost accounting principles, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with financial software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, etc.) and other ERP systems; Advanced in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams.
  • High proficiency with reconciliations.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Office environment will be standard practice, including but not limited to airports, lounges, trailer offices, construction offices, etc.
  • May be required to stand, sit, bend, twist, and reach as part of the job.
  • Extended periods of standing on your feet may be required.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug screen, or other job-related pre-hire screenings related to the job.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
