Primary Purpose

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Ensures all personal, facility, and department safety standards are met. Under general direction, performs repair and maintenance of equipment, systems, buildings and grounds throughout the PECO territory including office, service building locations and substation complexes.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Repairs all equipment, from an analysis of the nature of the trouble on through to the completion of the job.
  • Tears down machinery to gain access to the faulty part and fits new parts into place, reassembling machine and making a test run to insure proper functioning of the equipment in accordance with its designed performance.
  • Must be able to analyze problems with equipment, make repairs and test for correct results with or without direct supervision.
  • Employees in this position may be required to work various shifts and locations as determined by the work schedule.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diplomas or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the operation, repair and maintenance of building and HVAC systems and equipment.
  • Technical School completion for HVAC and Electric desirable.
  • Must communicate well with supervision, peers and clients.
  • Must have ability to successfully complete appropriate testing associated with this position as a pre-requisite for employment.
  • Must be able to work independently with a minimum of supervision and guidance.
  • Must be available for call outs and emergency response.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing informal estimates of major repairs and/or compose written reports to management regarding such matters as improved designed of parts, equipment and methods.
  • Universal Refrigerant Reclaim and Storage Certification of HVAC equipment is required
  • Shift work may be required.
  • Computer Skills required; knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (such as MAXIMO) is desirable.
  • Valid Driver's license with ability to operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle and maintain a Driver Qualification File
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug/alcohol test(s), background check(s) and physicals

Preferred Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Universal EPA Certification 608 required
  • R32 AND R-454B experience preferred not required
