Job Summary


Xumo seeks an experienced and highly motivated Executive Director of Product Management, Xumo Play to join our growing FAST Product & Technology team. Reporting to the Vice President of FAST Product within the Xumo Joint Venture, the ED Product for Xumo Play will drive the strategy, development, and optimization of Xumo’s premier, consumer-facing FAST app experience. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Front- and Back-end Engineering, Project Management, QA, Advertising sales, Content Operations, Ad Operations, Editorial and Marketing, to deliver innovative app products and features that drive engagement, retention and ad revenue.
This senior leadership role requires an accomplished executive with a deep understanding of the streaming media industry, a track record of managing high-performance product teams, and a passion for delivering exceptional user experiences that leverage industry insights, data-driven methodologies, and innovative UI/UX practices focused on growth and engagement.
This role will require an individual to be very organized, excellent in written and verbal communication, highly analytical, adept at communicating clearly and regularly with internal and external stakeholders and consistently demonstrate subject matter expertise. Experience leveraging AI-toolsets and technology within the course of Product workflows is strongly preferred.

Job Description


Core Responsibilities


+ Strategic Leadership & Vision: Develop and articulate a compelling long-term product strategy aligned with Xumo FAST business goals. Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies (AI adoption in particular), and rapidly evolving consumer preferences in streaming and ad-supported models.

+ Product Lifecycle & Roadmap Management: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of Xumo Play’s core products, including live channels, on-demand content, user interface, search, recommendations, and personalization features.

+ Team Management & Development: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing product management team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.

+ User Experience & UI/UX: Drive continuous improvement of the Xumo Play user interface and experience, ensuring intuitive navigation, content discoverability, and personalized engagement across all devices.

+ Customer Care: Lead the support team to ensure timely, effective assistance to end users who contact Xumo Play support. Partner with the Care team for the Xumo platform and develop cross-functional strategies to address user issues, enhance satisfaction, and incorporate feedback into product improvements.

+ Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize internal analytics, user feedback, and industry benchmarks to inform product decisions, optimize user journeys, and influence engagement and retention.

+ Market & Industry Awareness: Monitor the competitive landscape, industry news, and technological advancements within streaming media, AVOD, and FAST segments to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.

+ Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, content, marketing, advertising, and sales teams to ensure seamless execution of product initiatives and revenue growth strategies.

+ Data Security & Accessibility Compliance: Lead the implementation of industry best practices for data security, privacy, and accessibility. Oversee initiatives such as adherence to global privacy platforms, and ensure the Xumo Play app supports accessibility features including captions and audio descriptions to meet compliance standards and user needs.

+ Operational Excellence: Implement best practices for product development, testing, release cycles, and continuous improvement, partnering with Project Management and Development teams on Xumo Agile methodologies

Position is office based in Irvine, CA or Philadelphia, PA-4 days a week in office/1 day remote.


Qualifications


+ 10+ years of experience in product management, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles within the streaming media, AVOD/FAST, or digital media industries.


+ Proven success launching and scaling consumer-facing streaming products with a strong understanding of UI/UX principles.


+ Demonstrated expertise in managing cross-functional teams including product, design, personalization, and customer care.


+ Deep knowledge of ad-supported streaming ecosystems, including programmatic advertising, targeting, and monetization strategies (including with SSAI).


+ Capability to lead both Front End (user-facing) and Back End (Server/API development) features and functionality.


+ Familiarity with data privacy regulations and best practices for compliant data handling.


+ Strong analytic skills, with experience analyzing internal metrics such as engagement, retention, ad performance, and revenue.


+ Proven ability to foster innovative cultures that promote new feature development and user engagement strategies.


+ Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.


+ Familiarity with industry platforms like Pluto TV, Tubi, Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, and other leading streaming providers.

Preferred Qualifications


+ Experience working with or leading a FAST/Free Ad-supported streaming platform or other related streaming media service.


+ Knowledge of emerging technologies such as AI/ML for personalization.


+ Proven track record of negotiation and partnership development in a media environment (ie with external vendor/contractor relationships or with platform distribution partners).


+ Experience navigating regulatory standards such as GDPR, CCPA, and ADA compliance in digital media environments.


+ Experience working with international markets and managing localization and regional content requirements.


+ Familiarity with Content Management and/or Asset Management Systems


+ Proficiency with Atlassian tool suite or similar product management tools

Salary:


Primary Location Pay Range: $211,833.91 - $317,750.86


Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.
