Federal agencies, government contractors, commercial customers, and academic and professional organizations rely on NV5 for a wide range of needs, and we lend our expertise however and wherever it is needed.</p> <p> </p> <p>NV5/Dade Moeller seeks a Dose Reconstructor to support the Energy Employee Occupational Illness Compensation Act (EEOICPA) Project work.</p> <p> </p> <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li>Produces and reports timely dose estimates, supporting methodology, and factual basis for each claim received by the National Institute for Occupation Safety and Health (NIOSH) from the Department of Labor (DOL) under EEOICPA, and for claims requiring rework because of changes in claim information or changes in dose reconstruction policy. </li> <li>Performs internal and external dose reconstructions and peer reviews. </li> <li>Performs complex and in-depth evaluation of physical quality, accessibility, and relevance of discovered data and records. </li> <li>Evaluates medical histories. </li> <li>Utilizes site research documents, reports, and other applicable records to retrospectively reconstruct occupational radiation doses. </li> <li>Documents findings and writes detailed reports that clearly and accurately reflect the results of the individual dose reconstruction, including the probability of causation. </li> <li>Responds to issues in the Close-Out Interview (COI), NIOSH comments/questions, and the Advisory Board for Radiation Worker Health (ABRWH) reviews. </li> <li>Candidates will work with other HP professionals through training and collaboration. <p> </p></li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <p>Preferred Skills: </p> <ul> <li>Experience with dose reconstruction on past projects, specific accidents, or other occupational exposure conditions.</li> <li>Knowledge of methods and procedures used to monitor internal and external radiation exposures, specifically in recognition and evaluation of records that, either directly or indirectly, may be used to retrospectively reconstruct occupational radiation doses. </li> <li>Experience with DOE facilities and AEC, ERDA, and DOE records systems.</li> <li>Advanced degrees and certifications, such as a master’s in health physics or a related field.</li> <li>CHP certification or on track to achieve certification.</li> </ul> <p>Requirements include: </p> <ul> <li>Minimum bachelor’s degree in health physics, environmental or natural sciences, or related field. Experience as a Radiological Control Technician (RCT) or Health Physics Technician (HPT) will also be considered in lieu of a formal degree.</li> <li>Two or more years of experience in health physics or radiation safety with a solid technical/educational background in environmental science, radiological engineering, site remediation, or health physics, with practical applications with CERCLA/DOE site experience preferred. </li> <li>Familiarity with basic statistics and/or mathematical modeling.</li> <li>Familiarity with radiation dose modeling software such as IMBA or Varskin is preferred.</li> <li>Excellent writing and communication skills </li> <li>Strong knowledge of MS Office software </li> <li>This role is remote and requires the selected candidate to be a U.S. citizen for specific government contract</li> </ul> <p>The pay range for this position is $75,000 to $95,000 per year. Base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.</p> <p> </p> <p>All local employment laws apply.
