JOIN THE TEAM COMMITTED TO DRIVING YOUR CAREER FORWARD Job Type: Full time Exempt/Non Exempt: Hourly Job Description: A DAY IN THE LIFE of a Corporate and Leisure Travel Consultant The Auto Club Group is seeking a prospective Leisure Travel Consultant who can deliver excellent customer satisfaction through service and sales of ACG travel products to our Members and Clients. You will be challenged to drive new business with competitive products and help retain The Auto Club Groups 14+ million members. Description Corporate and Leisure Travel Consultants Service and sell domestic and international airline tickets, car rental, hotel and travel insurance to Corporate Employees, Leisure Travel Clients and Members, Field and Call Center Agents through an in-bound telephone environment. Determine client needs based on individual consultation and emphasizes preferred vendors as appropriate. Cross sell membership to align with the ACG Connected Member Vision Consummate sales by making necessary travel arrangements and advises Leisure travelers/arrangers of various travel information including cancellation/change penalties, schedules and fares. Receive, investigate, and provide timely resolution to travel problems and issues. Plan and book Western Hemisphere and European international airline reservations on the Computer Reservation System (CRS) Plan and book complex international and domestic itineraries, hotel, car and rail reservations Meet or exceed established performance, production and quality standards Learn and use a variety of travel related information including geography and travel resource material Work independently with minimal supervision Arrange travel itineraries for small groups Work with the Travel Group Department to procure airline agreements and book air for incentive and leisure groups Offer advice on the destination and be knowledgeable about making transportation and accommodation requests Keep abreast of developments in foreign countries that may influence travel arrangements or make a destination unsafe Review all fare options, including Agentware, and provide enhancements to the basic travel purchase, including hotels and cars What it’s like to work for The Auto Club Group: Serve our members by making their satisfaction our highest priority Do what’s right by sustaining an open, honest and ethical work environment Lead in everything we do by offering best-in-class products, benefits and services ACG values our employees by seeking the best talent, rewarding high performance and holding ourselves accountable HOW WE REWARD OUR EMPLOYEES Leisure Travel Consultants earn a competitive salary between $18.00/hour to $27.62/hour with annual bonus potential based on performance. ACG offers excellent and comprehensive benefits packages: Medical, dental and vision benefits 401k Match Paid parental leave and adoption assistance Paid Time Off (PTO), company paid holidays, CEO days, and floating holidays Paid volunteer day annually Tuition assistance program, professional certification reimbursement program and other professional development opportunities AAA Membership Discounts, perks, and rewards and much more WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES WHO Required Qualifications: Education High school diploma or equivalent Work Experience Extensive travel agent experience with emphasis on domestic and international airline transactions done through the Computer Reservation System (CRS) and auto faring of transactions Car, Hotel and Insurance knowledge Knowledge and Skills: Tourism nomenclature North American geographical relationships Worldwide reference sources Perform basic mathematical skills including percentages Communicate effectively in the work environment and with the public Plan and organize with an attention to detail and accuracy throughout the selling/servicing process Work in a team environment to promote member/customer satisfaction Knowledgeable about passport and visa requirements for international travelers Knowledgeable about Travel Entry Requirements and Protocols for Domestic and International Destinations Preferred Qualifications Certified Travel Counselor designation, college level coursework, technical school or related work experience. Experience as a lead/senior travel agent. Advanced sales techniques Experience using Sabre Red Work Environment This is a hybrid work arrangement. May work in a remote/virtual environment. Depending on the employee’s role and leadership’s assessment, some employees will come into an ACG facility on an “as needed” basis for key meetings and collaborative activities.
