Marriage and Family Services is hiring for one school-based co-located therapist position at Wellington Landings Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. The licensed therapist or registered intern will be paired with this school in the Palm Beach County School District providing ongoing mental health services on campus according to the school calendar. **Please only apply if you live near these locations, as commuting is not easy during school rush hours.

Applicant must be a Registered Intern or Fully licensed LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT.

The therapist is required to be at school during educational hours of their specific school.

Responsibilities include maintaining an ongoing caseload of 18-22 students per week throughout the school year. You will be working closely with school administrators and staff to develop your caseload. You will meet with the students on your caseload for weekly individual sessions utilizing various therapeutic modalities, such as CBT, DBT, SFBT, etc.

When not seeing students, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, completing progress notes, submitting student records via Caring First and SIS, attending school mental health meetings, meeting with school staff and administrators, and being a visible part of the fabric of the school. Therapists will also be required to attend various school trainings throughout the year.

These duties equate to 37.5 hours per week on campus. This is a 1099 position and pays $51,000 for the school year (paid out bi-weekly). Position starts August 2026 and ends May/June 2026 (official dates coming soon). There is an opportunity to receive an end-of-year bonus if the contract is completed fully.

Hours are based on the requirements of each school. Middle school hours are typically 8:30am-4:00pm. Hours are Monday-Friday with paid school holidays throughout the year (based on school calendar holidays).

  • Experience working with school aged children is a requirement.
  • Strong communication skills and organization skills are a requirement. This position requires quick responses, strong communication, and attention to detail.

Requirements
  • Master's Degree is required (MFT, MHC, LCSW, or related field)
  • Florida state licensure required prior to hire (Registered Intern or Licensed in a mental health field) - we cannot accept art or dance therapy certifications in place of an active license in Florida through the Department of Health
  • Play Therapy experience
  • Children and Family experience is required
  • Experience in different areas (substance use, children/adolescents) is welcomed
Starting Pay
  • Unlicensed Therapist: $45-$50 per client contact hour
  • Licensed Therapist: $50-$55 per client contact hour
Job Types: Full-time, 1099 position only Documentation training is provided, along with a variety of resources available to clinicians. Free monthly trainings and group supervision included.
