Associate Production Director Location: Irvine, CA,  United States Job Description: Team Name: Cinematics Job Title: Associate Production Director - Temp (SFD / Cinematics) Requisition ID: R027627 Job Description: Blizzard Entertainment is looking for an experienced, highly organized professional, with a managerial and production background in animation, VFX or game development. They should exhibit outstanding communication skills and have proven experience managing and building teams. The Associate Production Director will work with the cinematic project producers and related department leaders, to ensure the successful production of cinematics for the studio. They will act as the team manager, as well as strategist, and collaborator, across the various teams both inside and outside of the Story and Franchise Development department. You will be well-versed in leading projects through an animation pipeline, experienced at mentoring a team, and able to work well in a fluid production environment. Primary duties will include oversight of all cinematic trailers and promotional shorts, ensuring projects are produced efficiently and at the quality expected from Blizzard’s cinematics team. While the production of the content will generally be the responsibility of those reporting to this position, the Associate Production Director will facilitate and help advance production while managing and improving the skill set of the individual producers. This role is a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The home studio for this role is Irvine, CA. This is a 12-month temporary position. Responsibilities Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities: Supporting the efforts of the cinematic production team Ensure projects run smoothly in partnership with surrounding leadership and by supporting an inclusive, highly collaborative environment Partner with cross-departmental leaders to plan and assign project leadership teams, taking into consideration the fluctuating demands of production, available talent, team composition, and creative strengths Establish and help to maintain relationships with key game team personnel, the publishing team and any other stakeholders Develop and help to maintain solid relationships with outsourcing vendors, negotiate deal terms and lend oversight to all outsourced cinematics Minimum Requirements Experience  10+ years of leadership experience in game development/film/animation or equivalent work experience Proven experience managing multiple projects/priorities and deadlines Demonstrated experience in resource planning across multiple projects Knowledge & Skills Successful track record of developing and leading teams of 5-10 people Expertise in leading teams and guiding outsourcing partners Effective written and verbal communication skills Existing knowledge of Blizzard Entertainment games, characters or existing lore a plus, but not required Key Attributes Ability to collaborate closely with surrounding departments to ensure success of all projects A love for storytelling, movies, and video games Your Platform Best known for iconic video game universes including Warcraft®, Overwatch®, Diablo®, and StarCraft®, Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $124,400.00 - $230,300.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
