<h2>Responsibilities</h2> <p>Peraton is seeking an AI/ML Engineer (SME) to support the MODES III program supporting Military Community and Family Policy (MC&FP). In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for architecting, developing, and integrating AI and machine learning capabilities into MODES III application development efforts to enhance functionality, automation, and mission outcomes. This position is remote and requires an active Secret clearance. </p> <p><strong>JOB DESCRIPTION</strong> </p> <ul> <li>AI/ML Engineer. Responsible for architecting, developing, and integrating AI and machine learning capabilities into MODES III application development efforts to enhance functionality, automation, and mission outcomes. </li> <li>Leads design and development of AI/ML-enabled application features supporting MODES III application development activities. </li> <li>Applies machine learning, natural language processing, or automation techniques to enhance application functionality, decision support, and user interaction. </li> <li>Oversees integration of AI/ML components into application architectures, ensuring performance, scalability, and maintainability. </li> <li>Establishes model development, training, validation, and deployment approaches aligned with Agile application development practices. </li> <li>Collaborates with application developers, product owners, and DevSecOps teams to ensure AI/ML solutions align with functional requirements and release cycles. </li> <li>Ensures AI/ML implementations adhere to Government security, data handling, and ethical use guidelines. </li> <li>Provides technical leadership and subject matter expertise for AI/ML approaches used within application development efforts. </li> <li>Familiar with: PyTorch/TensorFlow/Keras, Hugging Face transformers, LangChain, RAG toolkits, FAISS/Pinecone, SageMaker/Vertex AI, MLflow/Kubeflow, Terraform/CloudFormation, EKS/GPU EC2, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, AWS Lake Formation/Feature Store, QuickSight/Tableau, Secrets Manager/KMS, eMASS/RMF. </li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <p><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</strong> </p> <ul> <li>Active Secret clearance required. </li> <li>Experience / Education:  12 years relevant experience with BS/BA degree or 10 years with MS/MA or 8 years with PHD or 16 years w/o a degree or 14 years with AS/AA degree</li> <li>Certifications: This role requires a demonstration of capability within the Cyberspace IT workforce. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
